Would You Let Donald Trump Babysit Your Kids?
This is the question every American should ask themselves this November.
In 1956, Red Sovine’s popular Gospel song “If Jesus Came to Your House” rather precisely summed up the hypocrisy of many good Christians. As “holy” as they thought they were, they wouldn’t be able to accommodate a visit from the Lord Jesus. They would need to hide their “dirty magazines,” as Red suggested. The presence of the Son of God in their homes could result in many embarrassing moments for the holy rollers.
But when you saw him coming, would you meet him at the door,
With arms out stretched in welcome, to your heavenly visitor.
Or would you have to change you clothes, before you’d let him in.
Or hide some magazines, and put the bible where they had been.
Would you turn off the radio, and hope he hadn’t heard.
And wish you hadn’t uttered, that last loud hasty word.
Would you hide your worldly music, and put some hymn books out.
Could you just let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about (If Jesus Came to Your House).
