Why Were Two Members of the Tennessee House Expelled?

Because they were ‘misbehaving Blacks’ in a state where ‘they’ should know better

One of the good ol’ boy Tennessee members of the Tennessee House said that the expulsion of the two young Black members had nothing to do with race. A third member, Gloria Johnson, was also threatened with removal but she survived by six votes: Ms. Johnson is white.

Be gone, Black men, learn thine place in Tennessee.

The extraordinary punitive action against the Democrats — Representatives Justin Jones and Justin J. Pearson — for an act of protest marks just the third time since the Civil War era that the Tennessee House has expelled a lawmaker from its ranks and threatens to further inflame the partisan rancor within a bitterly divided state (GOP Punishes 2 Democrats).

The offense committed by Jones and Pearson was one of the worst imaginable in the great upside-down of modern American society. The two young men dared to join protests that had engulfed the Tennessee capital. The men stood before the chamber and joined in with the chanting of the protestors which could be clearly heard inside the disgrace-filled chamber. Jones and Pearson chanted in support of the protesters.
