Few of us had any doubts that Mitch McConnell would be against Ketanji Brown Jackson. She is a highly-experienced jurist with a nearly impeccable record. There is, however, something very obviously wrong with her. What could it be, though? What could it be that so upsets Mitch McConnell (and Lindsey Graham, for that matter)?

Maybe it’s her name. I mean, come on, it sounds real “Black,” right? I mean, who names their kid “Ketanji?” No one at the good all-white clubs frequented by old-school racists like Kentucky’s senior senator — and anchor around its collective neck — McConnell.

Well, no, I am wrong about there being no “Katanjis” at the club. One of them is surely employed as a cleaning lady or maybe in the kitchen. Such a name, however, is okay for those roles. That’s actually where the Katanjis of the world belong according to the racist Republican Party. No such name, Republicans are likely seething, should be disgracing the grand old traditions of American jurisprudence — especially the current court which is actively making it next to impossible for the Katanjis of the world to vote.

The past holds the answers to today’s problems. “Be curious, not judgmental,” at least until you have all the facts. Think and stop watching cable news.
