When People Are Scared, They Are So Much Easier to Manipulate
A mother of two is killed putting groceries away after an argument in the parking lot
Alexandria Cress Borys (26) argued with a fellow shopper about something unknown to us and then went to her car. After placing her children in their car seats, she proceeded to load the groceries into her minivan. The other woman, Christina Harrison (23), approached from behind and shot Alexandria in the back killing her.
The shooting took place in Columbia, South Carolina. Maybe that simple fact is justification for her murder, Columbia is one of the most violent places in America and there is a 1 in 21 chance of being a victim of violent crime there. If I accept the cause of this tragic death as being merely one of geography, then I can end my article here. But it isn’t merely a case of bad geography and so I won’t stop here.
Amazingly, Alexandria’s brother, Brendan Kaloplatos (23), died on February 10th of this year, a victim of gun violence, too. Other than his obituary, there are no details on his cause of death which makes me think it was suicide.
