Trump Claimed He Faces Challenges Greater Than Washington, Adams, Lincoln, and FDR

Then, he warns the world that God saved him from the assassin’s bullet to make America great again — so get out of his way.

In all of the drama reserved for the queen that he now is, Donald Trump declared with a straight face to the nation that he was taking over the presidency at a time more troubling than anything Washington, Adams, Lincoln, or FDR experienced. The enmity, the lack of comity, and the hatred many of us feel now for the “other side” are caused by a conflagration of his making.

Donald Trump has worked tirelessly, and often with energy levels that would exhaust men 30 years his junior, to bring America to this state of consciousness. Beginning in 2015 and carrying through his entire first term and then his post-presidency, he has worked with one prevailing goal in sight: Make them hate me and my cult and move the nation along to a civil war mentality. Once things get bad enough, I will be able to call national emergencies and turn the weakling democracy into an autocracy commanded by me.

He has succeeded. Many people along the way could have stopped him. The first name that comes to mind is Mitch McConnell. He could have voted to impeach Trump in 2021, and…
