There is a perfectly simple solution to the imminent decline of man’s role in the economy: man, city residents — assuming the city is the best laboratory — must be permitted to play a more active role in what companies are permitted to set up shop in THEIR cities; and, here I am not talking about super high-tech companies but “does the city need another Walmart? Five more Dublin Donuts?”

Can man reinvent his economic relevance? One absolute will be that job-creation has to be done more so on a local level and not behind closed doors between greedy corporations and not-wanting-to-lose-power corrupt politicians.
