The Unraveling of Our History
American history is getting a mulligan. Yeah!
I know that you are as sick as me when it comes to January 6th. I am sick of writing about it — I wrote about it earlier today. I hear your displeasure loud and clear. Don’t worry; this might be one of my last articles about that infamous day in our history. Right before our eyes, January 6th is turning into a day of “Boston Tea Party” and “Bunker Hill” significance in our nation’s slowly dwindling history.
Suppose it’s the last thing he does before dementia pulls him down the rabbit hole and nudges him off into incoherence and eternal confusion. In that case, Donald Trump will rewrite the history of January 6th. Many Americans regard his determination to free himself from the yoke of one of America’s darkest days as a harmless endeavor that likely won’t happen at all. These people believe Trump will take office and forget about his promises of revenge. One person recently told me that Trump’s bluster about Jan 6th is similar to his threats to arrest Hillary Clinton, but there is one big difference: January 6th was not about Hillary.
