The F.B.I. Went Into Mar-A-Lago Out of a Necessity to Protect Our Spies
Even more alarming, Trump allegedly refused to return documents while lying about their existence
A heavily-redacted affidavit hit the streets yesterday very much to the displeasure of ex-President Donald Trump.
The main thesis of the document, which was used by the Justice Department to justify its raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, is that in the documents found in the possession of citizen Donald Trump were many top-secret ones that if uncovered by our nation’s enemies could have endangered “human intelligence sources.”
The Justice Department’s search of former President Donald J. Trump’s Florida home was spurred by the discovery that he had retained a trove of highly classified material that included documents related to the use of “clandestine human sources” in intelligence gathering, according to a redacted version of the affidavit used to obtain the search warrant (Affidavit Cites Trump’s Refusal).
