The AI Wars Have Commenced
Is it time to rewrite CLs accordingly: ‘even though I am only a human…’ or has our universal basic income moment arrived?
Don’t ever run from the future, from change. Shoving your head down into the sand and hiding from technology is a fool’s game. We are obligated to learn while alive so we can ensure that those who come after us will be better and smarter.
I play my role in mankind’s evolution the best I know how. Always trying to learn and absorb more, I want my place in the great unseen matrix that bridges us to future humans to be one that is firing and snapping with reams of usable, and helpful information; and yet, I am apprehensive. It is with a sense of foreboding that read about the coming AI wars.
The recent explosion of AI chatboxes has me thinking this is our big before-and-after-moment. Everywhere you look, smart humans are cheering on the gladiator-like battle between the competing machine-learning minds. The brightest and the geekiest, some more comfortable in the company of sassy pool inflatables than living with breathing humans, are pouring all they have into making their version of an artificially-intelligent brain the fastest, wittiest, and most human-like.
