Thank you, Robert. Actually, it is quite self-evident. First of all, not wanting to go onto a 1000-word rant to lead up to that leap, I made an assumption that many would know about the Reagan gutting of the Fairness Doctrine. My point was that had that not been gutted, then Americans still would have received a more or less balanced diet of information and not the high-caloric, corn-syrupy-based propaganda of right-wing media that has been filling their brains since 1988 (the appearance of Rush nationwide) and 1996 (the launch of Fox). Had the FD not been gutted, then the 24/7 war against climate change required that people hear a mix of facts as well as right-wing BS...and this goes for every problem we have today. As Big Everything (oil, bix, religion, food, pharma, etc.) realized it could get away with putting out nothing but lies for the sake of enhancing the bottom line, Fox and other right-wing media became what it became and we became what we are. School lunches were a little bit better in the 1980s. I recall actually having cooked meals in school in New Jersey, and then everything became about the bottom line, and each one of us became a part of somebody's P&L. Maybe I should have added all of this to the article, but then it would have been 10,000 words ))...I will do better next time.

The past holds the answers to today’s problems. “Be curious, not judgmental,” at least until you have all the facts. Think and stop watching cable news.
