Shutter the UN! All Relevance Is Finally Lost

This is not an April Fools Day joke, Russia is now the president of the UN

This image shows the aftermath of a Russian missile strike on Ukraine. It is not from this morning, Russia fired ballistic missiles at civilian targets today, but it could be. Russia’s accession to the presidency of the United Nations tomorrow is a solid kick in the groin of the civilized world and a collective denial of Ukraine’s suffering.

What does the presidency mean?

The President shall declare the opening and closing of each plenary meeting of the session, direct the discussions in plenary meetings, ensure observance of these rules, accord the right to speak, put questions, and announce decisions. He shall rule on points of order and, subject to these rules, shall have complete control of the proceedings at any meeting and over the maintenance of order thereat (Order of Procedure).

Russia, the pariah state, the state terrorist conducting a war of genocide on a sovereign, and independent nation for the past year, now oversees the meetings of the one body in the world that is supposed to be a place where the offended and victimized can find justice and support.
