Kremlin tries to create distance between itself and Wagner

His name was Yevgeny Nuzhin. He was a convicted murderer who joined the Wagner Group’s fight in Ukraine. Promised that if he fought for six months, he would be a free man, he was also warned that certain crimes in the war zone were punishable by death.

One of those crimes was desertion. The Wagner Group released a video showing Nuzhin with his head taped to a brick. He confesses to his crime and then another Wagner soldier crushes his head with a sledgehammer.

Putin’s buddy, chef, and maybe Russia’s next leader waxed film critic in his assessment of the video.

“It seems to me that this film should be called: ‘A dog dies a dog’s death,’” said Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is the financier of Wagner Group and is considered a close ally of Vladimir Putin, the Russian president.

“It was an excellent directional piece of work, watched in one breath. I hope no animals were harmed during filming (Wagner Mercenary Brutally Executed).”

The sledgehammer has become the Wagner Group’s calling card of sorts.
