Rightist Americans Justify Trumpism as a Bulwark Against Socialism

But there is almost nothing in the Democratic platform that espouses socialism

Americans on the Left and Right are finally in full agreement. Our democracy is at risk. This is a perception that crosses the aisle and unites Americans to be resolutely, and passionately in disagreement with each other.

Democrats blame Republicans and vice versa. President Biden officially, and rightfully, declared without any of the usual weak language that panders to political correctness that MAGA Republicans are our enemy. Agree with him or not, it’s done and now they know — we won’t tolerate it anymore.

But President Biden’s declaration in front of the most important building in the history of America, the hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed, will unlikely sway many MAGA Republicans. There is a good chance that most Republicans won’t agree with the president’s summation of our current malaise.

What President Biden did do, however, was define the two sides making it easier for Americans to choose. So much disruption, so much obstruction and so much obfuscation of the truth has been at play on the Right that often it seemed Democrats were just as much to blame for the dysfunction of our political system…
