The journey has begun. Where it ends, no one knows. Right-wing extremists have been whining about voter fraud non-stop for two years and just to make sure they were right, they are doing it themselves by intimidating voters.

The first complaints have already been filed in Arizona. We can either fight back and save our democracy, or we can otherwise be preoccupied and merely register shocks at what is taking place: well, I don’t live in Arizona so it doesn’t affect me. What is taking place in Arizona already affects all of us.

While we are still weeks out from election day, early voting in many states has already commenced. So far in Arizona, a total of three complaints have been registered with the federal authorities. Groups of right-wing extremists are staking out early-voting drop boxes and threatening the Americans voting.

In closed-circuit television footage on CNN, a man can be seen pulling up to a ballot box and then engaging with some people off-screen. After inserting his vote, he is seen backing his car away rather than driving past what turns out to have been a gathering of 10 people openly taunting him.

The past holds the answers to today’s problems. “Be curious, not judgmental,” at least until you have all the facts. Think and stop watching cable news.
