Republicans Don’t Bat an Eye at IRS Abuse of Power
And yet somehow Fox News is reporting on the “Biden crime family”
The Trump-appointed commissioner of the I.R.S. is either a magician or he is just another corrupt Republican who most likely should be jailed.
As much as I want to side with the latter description, I will try to wait until the investigation into the audits of former FBI Director James Comey and his deputy, Andrew G. McCabe are completed; but then again I might jump the gun and make my judgement by the end of this article.
The disclosure from the I.R.S. came a day after The New York Times reported that Mr. Comey and Mr. McCabe had been the subjects of audits that target just several thousand Americans a year and are highly invasive (I.R.S. Asks Inspector General to Review Audits of Comey and McCabe).
Out of an average of 154 million filed tax returns each year, the I.R.S. randomly audits between 4000 and 5000 annually. If you recall, Director Comey and his deputy Andrew G. McCabe were actively investigating the Russian hack of the 2016 election; and, at the same time, they were actively scrutinizing the new president’s family, friends, and even the president himself.
The purpose of their investigation was not so much to find dirt on the new president…
