Putin’s Patience Pays Off
The United States stabs Ukraine in the back and rewards Russia for genocide.
Vladimir Putin waited us out. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. Putin, while criticized by many in his own country, waited. He shook. He was pale like a vampire. His legs trembled uncontrollably, and the world giggled. Who’s laughing now?
For three years, a war started by Russia has been raging against the people of Ukraine. Russia commits genocide against the Ukrainian nation, and most of the citizens of Russia, China, North Korea, India, Turkey, Iran, and a large assortment of African countries are completely okay with this violence. They are not offended when Russian soldiers rape young girls or elderly women. So unbothered by these atrocities that many of the citizens of these countries blame the Ukrainians.
The relatively sane leaders of the world united to oppose Russia. We all know this tragic history, and we have sliced, diced, and minced the details of this war here on Medium endlessly. I have written no less than 100,000 words on this topic, and anyone who reads my regularly knows my feelings about Putin, modern Russian society, and anyone who dares to express support for Russia’s war of genocide. At the same time, I don’t believe the victory that President Zelensky hopes for is possible.
