Putin Celebrates Orthodox Christmas Alone in Kremlin Cathedral
Vladimir Putin celebrated Russian Orthodox Christmas alone with a priest in one of the Kremlin’s most sacred cathedrals. Photos of the pensive and devout religious leader of the Russian people were shared with the world.
I apologize if you choked on anything while reading the opening paragraph. There is absolutely nothing inside the walls of the Kremlin that is “sacred” except maybe the spilled blood of innocent victims; Putin is not pensive just dopey from his medication and while he may be a “devout religious leader,” we need to ask the question, is not Moscow-based Russian Orthodoxy nothing less than a cult made up of violent religious fanatics?
This last question I will confirm with a resounding yes. I have always found the faux-religiosity of Russians to be nauseating. Maybe because they are bad actors or just don’t believe it themselves, but all of the giving up on food and drink during the 40 days before Easter, Lent, and the jumping into frozen lakes to “wash the sins away,” has always been nothing short of “look at me” insincere nonsense.
