Whatever we want to call them, MAGidiots, Trumpists, or just generically the Foxified, psalms have framed their less-than-lives, making the irrational rational and the borderline insane sane. “The Lord will give strength to the people: the Lord will bless the people with peace.

The cadence and tempo Trump uses for his rallies are not accidental. I am more than certain he has watched hours of Christian preachers standing up before their mega-churches, shouting lunacy to the hordes. Trump was not a gifted orator in May of 1989 when he called for the death penalty to be applied to the Central Park Five. He was a racist, misogynist pig, a spoiled white brat of privilege from Queens whose greatest thrill was to use his money to crush the poor under his jackboot.

If you think I am exaggerating, ask any of the thousands of construction workers who were cheated out of lots of overtime pay because Trump refused to pay — “Go ahead, sue me,” he would say with the bravado of a man certain his wealth would forever be able to pay for armies of security. When you live in the penthouse in a 90-floor building, you don’t really have to worry about a disgruntled New Jersey drywaller.

The past holds the answers to today’s problems. “Be curious, not judgmental,” at least until you have all the facts. Think and stop watching cable news.
