Poor Jesus!
It must be like water torture for the poor Semite from Nazareth. After all of the hate incessantly spewed, right-wing extremists all across the country are humbly calling out to poor Jesus as they try to come to terms with why their hateful ways were in many places rejected.
Lauren Boebert went social-media silent for 36 hours after her initial Election Day Tweet, “The red wave has begun!!” Finally, the woman whose Shooters restaurant was denied lease renewal over the summer virtually resurfaced to prod our Lord with a Tweet that surely must have been like fingernails running down a blackboard for Him: “Good morning! Jesus is Lord.”
Social media users had a field day highlighting the dichotomy between Boebert’s Tuesday Twitter swagger and the subsequent evaporation of the landslide she so publicly anticipated (Landslide Win Slipping Away).
It is pretty ballsy that a person who has been so nasty and even unsympathetic to the plight of Americans, at a time of personal loss resurfaces with a call to poor Jesus.
“Jesus is Lord.” What does the status of Jesus have to do with this woman’s fading hope of being re-elected? With 99 percent of the vote in, Boebert is down by less than 100 votes. I don’t know how things work in Colorado…
