Let’s Find a Bright Side to Roe v. Wade Being Overturned

We can rage or we can come together and overcome

Please refrain from calling me any bad names based just on the title of this article. I hate the takeover of our lives by a group of out-of-touch, overly-religious, privileged white people — I am talking about Clarence Thomas, also. I hate the fact that The Hand Maid’s Tale is just a few SCOTUS decisions away.

I hate it and the Dobbs decision makes my blood boil, but boiling blood serves none of us any good. It just kills us and makes our enemies stronger. Most of us for freedom of choice are what we would consider folks who like to use their brains.

With our more-evolved brains, let’s overcome this moment. Let’s show the clueless, hyper-religious dummies just who is boss. Let’s get choice rolling down the highway again — I mean literally.

Having lived for the past 30 years in Russia, a society that regularly shits all over its own and belly laughs when the people grow indignant at the loss of personal freedoms, I have managed to learn one important lesson: Using creativity to figure out ways to get around anti-democratic, oppressive laws is always something the creators of the laws can’t beat.
