‘Judge Not, That Ye Be Not Judged’

If only Republican Christians really loved Jesus, our country would be so much better off.

The Nazarene hippie clearly got a bad rap in life. Harassed relentlessly by Roman dummies and brutes (every era has its dummies), Jesus thought that getting hung on that cross would end it all for Him. Sadly, it didn’t. Mary and Joseph’s little boy, who had a voracious appetite for His mom’s homemade humous, has been one of the most tortured souls for the past 2000-plus years.

Throughout this long history, all sorts of undesirables and deplorables have claimed to have special relationships with Jesus. The Catholic Church, for centuries, has used its “in” with him to wreck marriages and lives by enforcing morality laws onto its flock while simultaneously raping, killing, and at times even looking the other way when regimes committed genocide. As for the Catholic Church, though, it has made efforts to reform itself, and the current pope, Francis, has been a revolutionary figure — although many priests are refusing to enforce his changes.

Jesus was an “active” participant in the January 6th insurrection in Washington. Floating above the crowd of the “gullibles” and fascists on that day were countless Jesus blow-ups and posters, a few even looked like Pepe the Pig from a distance. I was…
