I Love Joe Biden, But I Love America More

Mister President, in light of the murder of a Trump rally attendee the other day, it is time you pass the torch to someone else — please.

We did do it, Joe. That was the beauty of your win in November 2020 — it was our win, too. We vanquished the worst and most divisive president in our history. Then, he demonstrated to us two things: How powerful his mental illness is and how mentally ill so many of our fellow citizens are (sorry, my hour of being nice ended Sunday at midnight).

Joe, you kicked ass as our president, but many of the folks who voted for you so that they could take delight in evicting that cancerous family from the White House got lazy real fast. They let their guard down. What happened was that this MAGA thing is a disease. They are terminally ill, and acting like cult members eases their pain — the pain of having lost your soul to the devil is real, but the more they show love for the evil spirit, the less discomfort.

When we elected you, we weren’t necessarily united by lunacy, an orange criminal and Putinist, or a need to blame all of our personal shortcomings on immigrants and our Black neighbors.
