I Just Had A $6-Earning Day on Medium
This platform now officially sucks, and if not for the nice comments, it would be a waste of time
Let’s talk about it: A platform on which it was almost a religious act for some to write woke up one day and realized that it wasn’t making enough money.
It made changes. First, it made everything supercalifragilisticexpialidociously impossible to figure out.
It went from a simple system of “write,” and if people like what you wrote, they read it. The more time they spent reading your musings, the more you earned. This was a very straightforward approach.
But, it was too simple for some of us to seemingly “cheat” the system. Someone at Medium thinks writers like me, who used to write two and sometimes three articles daily, were cheating the system. So, under the guise of “we at Medium want to reward you for quality and not quantity,” Coach Tony — the CEO — decided to punish the lazy among us who faithfully wrote those two and three pieces of content — which I can tell you, is not easy day-in-and-day-out.
Tony told me to write less and one nice piece weekly, and the money would come to me. Well, I am still in the habit of writing at least once a day, but I have significantly decreased my writing time here as I find I…
