Hi Dave,

Presenting something to say who you are is fine. The problem with the Voter ID I see is this. First of all, Republicans in some states will only accept the kinds of ID's that a lot of people don't have; especially, in minority communities. America's minorities are disproportionately unbanked meaning they won't have the more traditional ID's. In some states. its okay to show a conceal-carry license as proof for ID but not a welfare card, for instance. Who does this situation benefit? As for creating a big, federal voter ID system, it's odd that Republicans passed a law that forbids the federal government from gathering statistics that show how many gun deaths/trends; but they are fine with a federal system that puts all voters into a federal database--which again uses again the kinds of criteria that many minorities might not have going back to the unbanked status. I personally am not against an ID per se; I am against all of the efforts to make it harder and to discourage minorities from voting. They are solving a problem that doesn't exist--there is no voter fraud.
