The average Russian citizen supporting the war in Ukraine bases his support on the information he gets from the media in his country which is 100 percent government controlled.
Unless the citizen makes an effort, one that has been made much harder thanks to internet censorship and threats of arrest if caught with opinions that differ from the government’s narrative in their possession, they will never get an alternative viewpoint of anything happening in the world. This explains why they are so zombified.

The average MAGA Republican bases his support of the extremist and racist policies of the right on the information he gets from the right-wing informational-entertainment industry led by Fox News. While this American citizen has the freedom to challenge the opinions on these right news sites, he won’t because the narrative is delivered to him in a way that prepares him to understand that anything contrary is prefabricated:
