Exactly. But sadly, the entirety of the right has two major issues. One, they never want to admit that government can actually do good sometimes and so therefore is needed. When Reagan said they so poorly understood words: the problem is government; the lunatics took over the asylum.

If Republicans admit that Cuomo had been effective then they have to admit that Trump was ineffective; they must also admit that the Fox/Trump narrative of "stop treading on my rights by making me wear a mask" whine--so sad and so embarrassing--was also, well, stupid. They are so, so against any kind of effective governance. Just pray, make shit up and blame Democrats--and then leads to the second problem. After the Bush 2 brought down the economy, the GOP would rather obstruct everything Obama tried to do to bring it back rather than let Obama be overwhelmingly successful. Our system is such that if one party acts the way the GOP does, the whole system gets bent out of shape. Since The Contract with America, the GOP has stopped governing and all they are doing is running for office.
