Can Matt Gaetz Get His Head Up Trump’s Ass Any Deeper?
The whole Republican rebellion against Kevin McCarthy is, in my obsessed-with-politics opinion, what they call “must-see TV.”
The voting has been delightful background noise in my home this past week and even though we know that sooner or later McCarthy or someone just as bad will win, it has nonetheless been a real joy watching the Republicans chomp like starving carp on the last remnant of their respectability — I am being generous here because their respectability was gone long ago.
I love watching how the God-fearing racists and lifelong bigots once again pretended to be supportive of “the Black guy.” Byron Donalds (R-FL) was nominated for the role of speaker by the rebels with little or no cause.
Shining the light on the racist history of the U.S. Congress, they managed to squeeze a nice, kumbaya-ovation out of the crowd pointing out that Donalds was the first Black man to be nominated for speaker from the Republican Party and with his nomination, there were now two Black men in the running for speaker.
The rebels nominated him because they know there is no chance he will win but that doesn’t matter. They also flocked to the abysmal and embarrassing tent of Herschel…
