Biden (Or Whoever) Needs to Win Over 5% of the Voters to Save Our Democracy

The debate woke Americans up, and not just to Biden’s frailness. Many now realize how dangerous Trump will be if elected.

The first time you touch an electric burner after it has cooled enough so it no longer glows is for many people the last time they touch an electric burner that has cooled enough so it no longer glows. I did it one evening when I was around nine, and I can still hear the sizzle of the skin on my fingers. The fact that Trump could potentially be elected again in November demonstrates that too many Americans forgot about the still-hot, non-glowing stovetop.

The debate was one of the lowest-watched ones in presidential history. Still, there is a chance that what many undecided Americans took away from the debate was not so much that Joe Biden is too old, especially after his fiery performances the very next day in North Carolina, but that Donald Trump is bat-shit crazy, and an unrepentant liar completely unfit to lead our nation.

After all, we are the United States of America, not some third-world country led by a madman who rubs his body with fluffernutter to protect himself from evil spirits. We are worthy of so much better. Everything Donald Trump did before, during…
