Donald Trump is a rat. Those weren’t the words that Sean McGarvey, a man who has seen the real Trump, uttered, but that’s what he meant when recently interviewed about Trump’s utter failure to help U.S. workers while he was president. McGarvey is the president of the North American Building Trades Union (NABTU).

If anyone knows what kind of person Trump is, it would be a man who represents many of the men who were swindled by Trump. If you are from New Jersey and the Philadelphia area and over a certain age, you recall how Trump would always not pay the last 20 or 30 percent of his construction bills. His rationale for not paying was that because he was certain he had been overcharged, he was going to get that money back in the end. He also expected that a lot of costly problems would arise after the building had been completed and so by not paying outstanding balances, he would have that money on hand to cover those costs — which he expected were done on purpose by cost-cutting contractors.

Whether or not any of that is true, there are many stories of contractors going bankrupt to pay their workers. Atlantic City was built on Trump’s lies and the tears of those he cheated, and yet many of the kids of the cheated men and women today…
