Belarusian Partisans Blow Up Russian Surveillance Plane Near Minsk

If Belarus joins the war, the country will dissolve into a civil war we should all be hoping for

Belarusian opposition forces not far from the country’s capital of Minsk used a drone to blow up a Russian A-50 surveillance plane. The attack is one of the first of its kind by Belarusian opposition against Russian forces located inside of Belarus.

Historically famous for being deadly partisans, is this the heralding in of a new and glorious era of Belarusian partisan warfare against Russian fascists or just a one-off to warn the Belarusian tyrant, Alexander Lukashenko, not to enter the war on Russia’s behalf? Only time can answer this question. Nonetheless, the warning was a clearly communicated one and one that neither Lukashenko nor Putin can ignore.

Those were drones. The participants of the operation are Belarusian,” Aliaksandr Azarov, leader of Belarusian anti-government organization BYPOL, was quoted as saying on the organization’s Telegram messaging app and the Poland-based Belsat news channel (Russian Military Aircraft Blown Up Near Minsk).
