An Easter Greeting from a Selfless Leader: Donald Trump
In case something felt amiss on Easter, take a gander at the heartfelt message from our 45th president
What would a holiday be without the shadow of Donald Trump on our national sanity, you know? I mean golly, the guy has a way with words to which few of us can stake a claim.
I don’t want to say that his style is Hemingway-esque but there is something in the tight brevity of his over-capitalized declarations, accusations, and judgments that builds a certain sense of expectation in the way that Papa was capable.
Hemingway loved to exhaust the smallest details, repeating them over and over. Trump does the same and like Hemingway, with each burst of lunacy, a few more bits and pieces of his narrative leak out into our consciousness.
But whereas Ernest Hemingway was a gifted writer whose narrative voice will live on for as long as humans are capable of being, Trump’s sad prose will end the moment his heart stops beating, if not sooner. His penchant for repetition does not entertain but disgusts. It makes most people around him believe that he is not just insane but potentially dangerous.
And so, without further ado, let’s get to Trump’s Easter greeting.
