45 is terrible...1 is terrible. But in a nation of nearly 400 million, more people die from injuries with staplers than from being targeted because they are transgender. I am not downplaying those hate crimes, but we have so many more problems in our society and the energy put into protecting the rights of transgender folks seems like the big favorite PC flavor of the decade. I am a progressive but I have zero tolerance for knee-jerk crowdism that identifies the feel-good cause of the moment. Guns violence is now the number one killer for children between 1 and 18 in America...let's put some of the energy we give to the transgender cause into that and slow those deaths. I am all for transgender rights. I am not for pc fascism.
